# ScaffPilot > ScaffPilot is free scaffold and weather-protection roof design software with BIM/IFC integration (import and IFC4 export) and FEM structural calculation; it also plans wall and slab formwork and construction site plans in the same project. It runs in the browser and as desktop apps for Windows, macOS and Linux. The Free edition (all design features) is free forever; ScaffPilot Engineer (8 € per user per month, excl. VAT) adds finite-element (FEM) scaffold calculation, teams and live co-editing; ScaffPilot Enterprise (19 € per user per month, excl. VAT) is everything in Engineer plus 500 MB of cloud storage per user and the company's business modules (projects, quotations, warehouse, multi-company management) with company-wide user management. ScaffPilot Supplier (49 € per user per month, excl. VAT, 10 quotation requests a month included, every 10 more +5 € per month) is for suppliers of scaffolding, formwork or site equipment (material and services): everything in Engineer plus quotation requests from ScaffPilot users for the products the company supplies, showing who is asking. Key facts: - 3D scaffold design: facade runs, one-click building wrap, corners, stair towers, consoles, cantilevers, loading bays, round/cistern scaffolds, steel I-beams. - Weather-protection roofs: gable and shed roofs (Layher KH, Layher XL, Proxa, Proxa Heavy) over a building in one click, trusses sized to the span, carried by the scaffolds; included in the material list, the FEM calculation (snow, wind in and out of service, uplift) and the IFC export. - Site and buildings: 94 building templates in 18 groups (as usually built in Finland and Sweden, with wings, roofs, windows and doors), 11 bridge types, industrial plant models (tanks, silos, pipe racks, process columns, steel structures, crawler cranes; exported with their own IFC classes), site surfaces (roads, parking, grass/gravel/asphalt areas, water, woods), street lights, EV chargers, stacked site huts with stairs, containers, dumpsters, cranes and hoists; buildings from OpenStreetMap, PDF drawings or IFC. - Scaffolding by keyboard: Shift+D adds bays, Shift+R / Shift+Alt+R turn bays (5° steps round balconies and bends, the wedge-shaped gaps boarded with plywood, toeboards and guardrails in the material list), Shift+L fits a wall's length. Weather-protection roofs can be fitted onto two scaffolds across from each other and turned section by section into L shapes and curves. - Built-in catalogues: Layher Allround and Blitz, PERI UP Flex and UP Easy, Altrad Plettac METRIX and SL, Scafom-rux RINGSCAFF and SUPER, MJ COMBI and UNI 70, ULMA BRIO and DORPA, Hünnebeck MODEX and BOSTA 70, Doka Ringlock, Proxa and Talhu Hana (modular and frame systems, each with its own bay lengths and widths), and tube and fitting (EN 74 couplers, 48.3 mm tube in stock lengths, 225 mm scaffold boards). Manufacturers' article numbers and weights where published; parts a catalogue does not list are flagged. A new project starts on the main scaffold system chosen at sign-up. - Material list with catalogue numbers, quantities, weights, scaffold area; CSV export; PDF plans, sections and elevations. - Formwork (menu "Formwork", Free and up): wall formwork from a drawn wall line or following a building's walls (one- or two-sided, height and thickness): generated panels, fillers, inside and outside corners, ties, clamps, alignment rails, push-pull props and optional platform brackets; slab formwork from an outline (soffit height, slab thickness): props on a grid, primary and secondary H20-type beams, prop heads, tripods and plywood. Generic, manufacturer-neutral catalogue with nominal sizes; spacings are editable defaults. Outputs: the material list (own Formwork group), PDF report and gear list, CSV, IFC. The layout is indicative and must be checked by the formwork supplier or a qualified engineer: there is no concrete-pressure, pour-rate or prop-load calculation (the Engineer FEM is for scaffolds and weather-protection roofs only). - Site plan (menu "Site plan", Free and up): a map underlay (OpenStreetMap / OpenFreeMap) or a drawing/PDF underlay; site fences, hoardings and barriers with vehicle and pedestrian gates; zones (storage, laydown, no-go, parking, waste, welfare) with labels and areas; crane reach circles and sectors (radius entered by the user, can follow a crane model; no lifting capacity or load charts); edge protection lines; the 3D site objects (huts, containers, cranes, fences, hoists) and roads/surfaces; a site-plan PDF sheet with a legend and a north arrow. - BIM: imports IFC2x3/IFC4 building models in a background worker, including very large files (a 168 MB model with 89,000 elements and 3 million triangles opened in about 8.5 seconds in the browser); scaffold base jacks fit to IFC slabs, roofs and stairs; exports scaffolds and weather-protection roofs as IFC4 BIM models with stable GlobalIds, part numbers as Tag and property sets (roof beams as IfcBeam/IfcMember, roof sheets as roofing coverings). - FEM (Engineer edition): 3D frame model of every member; EN 12811-1 service load classes 1–6, EN 1991-1-4 wind (terrain categories 0–IV), snow, self weight; EN 16508 load combinations and partial factors; second-order P-Δ analysis, semi-rigid joints, tension-only members; section, buckling and N+M checks (EN 1993-1-1 steel, EN 1999-1-1 aluminium); anchor forces and base reactions; weather-protection roofs calculated together with the scaffolds that carry them; FEM PDF report. The ScaffPilot FEM solver runs locally in the browser and is regression-tested against independent reference results. - Cloud, teams and sharing: projects can be saved in the ScaffPilot cloud next to local files; cloud files save themselves and open wherever you sign in. The cloud keeps only the latest version of each file (no version history or backup – keep your own copies with "Save a copy to this computer"); deleting a cloud file is permanent. Storage: Free 30 MB, Engineer and Supplier 300 MB, Enterprise 500 MB per user; team spaces 300 MB (500 MB when the team owner has Enterprise); more in 500 MB blocks at 5 € per month each (per storage account – a team pays once), excl. VAT, bought in the app and paid by card yearly. Teams (Engineer and up): invite people by email as editors or viewers; Free users can be invited and work in team files with the team's storage and the owner's edition features (features follow the file). Live co-editing: several people edit the same cloud file at once and see each other's changes immediately, with avatars and each person's selection in their colour; undo only undoes your own changes. Share one project by email to edit or view (the invited person creates a free account if they have none); Send to customer sends a read-only review link ("Have a look at the scaffold plan – is it OK?") – the customer creates a free account or signs in and sees the plan read-only (viewing, measuring, drawings and material list; no editing tools). - Licensing: one user account = one personal licence (no shared logins; at most two devices signed in at a time; everyone who uses ScaffPilot, also in a team, needs their own account). Free-edition outputs say "ScaffPilot Free version" and every file records the edition and version it was made with; a project saved with Free keeps Free's limits in another user's paid edition. Sign up free at https://scaffpilot.com/signup; upgrade to Engineer or Enterprise with the Upgrade plan button in the app. Paid editions are yearly card subscriptions paid on Stripe's payment page in the app (Engineer 96 €, Enterprise 228 €, Supplier 588 € per user per year, excl. VAT); they renew automatically and are cancelled in Manage subscription in the app. VAT is added on the payment page for the customer's country (Finland 25.5 %; EU businesses with a valid VAT ID: reverse charge; outside the EU: no Finnish VAT). - Quotation requests: a ScaffPilot user asks for a quotation straight from the project and chooses what it is for: scaffolding (rent, erection and dismantling, or material), formwork (rent, delivery, formwork planning) or site equipment (rent, delivery, installation); it goes to every listed supplier in the site's country that supplies that product and offers what is asked. Suppliers with ScaffPilot Supplier see who is asking and the full project; without it (or over the monthly limit) the request arrives without who is asking. Suppliers who want to be listed: info@scaffpilot.com. - Languages: the app and this site are in English, Finnish (https://scaffpilot.com/fi/), Swedish (https://scaffpilot.com/sv/), German (https://scaffpilot.com/de/), Polish (https://scaffpilot.com/pl/), Spanish (https://scaffpilot.com/es/), Dutch (https://scaffpilot.com/nl/) and Italian (https://scaffpilot.com/it/).
